Sixth Pay Commission Recommendations.
The government has decided to pay higher salaries of Rs 67,000 to Rs 79,000 to up to 40 per cent of the professors in centrally funded technical institutes, including the IITs and the IIMs.
Under the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations, professors in the central institutes were entitled to between Rs 37,400 and Rs 67,000 a month with an additional grade pay of Rs 10,500 to Rs 12,000.
IIT teachers had been up in arms against the condition because they felt the 40 per cent cap would discriminate against young professors.
Now, in the New order , the Ministry has said that instead of movement up to AGP of Rs 12,000 per month, 40 per cent of the professors would move to HAG. “It has now been decided in consultation with the Department of Expenditure to extend the HAG scale of Rs 67,000-Rs 79,000 without any Grade Pay in place of AGP of Rs 12,000 per month. The AGP of Rs 12,000 per month does not exist anymore,” the HRD notification states.

In consultation with the Department of Expenditure, it has been decided to extend the HAG scale of Rs 6700-7900 /- without any Grade Pay in place of AGP of Its: 12000 / - per month. The AGP of Rs 12000 /- per month does not exist anymore.

Subject:- Revision of pay of teaching and other Staff in Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) following the pay revision of the Central Government employees on the recommendation of 6th - Central Pay Commission (6th CPC).
Sir,
I am directed to refer to this Ministry's order of even number dated 18th August, 2009 which inter-alia provided Professors in the Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 10,500 /- per month to be eligible to move to AGP of Rs 12,000/- per month subject to conditions stipulated therein.
It has now been decided in consultation with the Department of Expenditure to extend the HAG scale of Rs 6700-7900/- without any Grade Pay in place of AGP of Its: 12000- per month. The AGP of Rs 12000 /- per month does not exist anymore Other conditions of
eligibility to move to the above scale of pay will remain the same.
Further the new scale of pay as indicated in MHRD letter of even number dated 26/08/2010 will have prospective effect from the date of issue of orders revising the scales of pay, i.e. , 18/08/2009.

RRB Pay Revision:
The government revised the pay scale and allowances of employees of regional rural banks (RRBs) and brought it on a par with the nationalized banks.
The move will put an additional cost burden of Rs 791 crore on the exchequer in the form of arrears.
Mukherjee also laid emphasis on expanding the core banking solutions platform of the RRBs. The total loan outstanding of RRBs as on March 31, 2010, stood at Rs 83,562 crore whereas the deposits amounted to Rs 1,42,814 crore.
Govt announces major benefits for artisan employees
Government today raised their Grade Pay by partially amending Sixth Pay Commission recommendations implemented in 2008 and restructured the cadre.
Under the new pay scales, Skilled Artisans would be in the Pay Band-I and their Grade Pay would be Rs 1,900.
Highly Skilled Grade I Artisans, who too would be under Pay Band-I, would receive a Grade Pay of Rs 2,800.
Master Craftsman under Pay Band-II would be paid a Grade Pay of Rs 4,200.
Wherever the grade structure in the Industrial as well as Non-Industrial trades is already existing in the ratio of 45:55, the erstwhile Skilled and Highly Skilled, and 25% of Highly Skilled in the grade of Master Craftsman, the following will apply:
1) 45% of the posts may be granted the pay scale of Skilled Worker (Grade pay of Rs. 1900 in the Pay Band PB-1).
2) 25% of remaining 55% may be granted the pay scale of Master Craftsman (Grade Pay of Rs. 4200 in the pay band PB-2);
3) The remaining posts may be divided in a ratio of 50:50 and redesignated as Highly Skilled Worker Grade-II (Grade Pay of Rs. 2400 in pay band PB-1) and Highly Skilled Worker Grade-1 (Grade pay of Rs. 2800 in pay band PB-1).
The placement of the individuals in the posts resulting from the restructuring shall be made w.e.f. 1.1.2006, in relaxation of the conditions, if any, i.e trade test etc. as one time measure. Highly Skilled Grade I shall be en-bloc senior to Highly Skilled Grade II.
The Post of Master Craftsman shall be part of the hierarchy and the placement of Highly Skilled Grade I in the grade of Master Craftsman will be treated as promotion.
In the case of Defence Establishments where there is no category of Skilled Workers and direct recruitment is made 100% at the level of Highly Skilled, the posts of Master Craftsman existing as on 1.1.2006 will be placed in PB-2 + GP-4200 and the remaining posts of Highly Skilled Workers may be bifurcated in HS-I and HS-II in the ratio of 50:50.
Kerala Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac said that the State government would appoint the Ninth Pay Revision Commission during the current financial year. He also said the recommendations of the pay commission would be implemented in the financial year 2010-11.
Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan has called for a meeting with representatives of state government employees to discuss a revision of pay scales.
“This meeting is the first step (towards pay hike) and has been called to listen to what their (employees’) needs are. After this, we will set up the Ninth Pay Commission. We expect that employees will be able to draw a revised salary by April 1, 2011,” Isaac.
State government employees of Bengal will get a 30% hike in pay from April 1 on an average. Asim Dasgupta,Finance Minister announced this on
Thursday.The Pay Commission's recommendations were submitted to chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on Thursday.
The Pay hike will benefit 1 million employees and about 400,000 pensioners.The Pay Commission recommended paying employees their arrears with effect from April 1, 2008, in three annual instalments, preferably from 2009-10.
The minimum basic pay recommended now is Rs 6,600. The commission recommended a minimum pension of Rs 3,300 and a maximum of Rs 35,000. The commission also suggested that pending instalments of DA be paid at an early date. All future instalments of DA should be released twice a year like that done by the Center. The recommendations also include increasing the maximum gratuity payable to Rs 6 lakh from Rs 2.5 lakh and medical allowance had been revised to Rs 300 per month from Rs 100.
