“ Buy 10 Gram Gold Coin and Get 0.5 Gram Totally Free. “

During the period from 4^th April to 30^th June 2011, India Post will be offering special festive discounts in celebration of the Akshaya Tritiya season. During this festive season, any customer who buys a 10 gram gold coin will get a 0.5 gram gold coin totally free or any customer will get a discount of 6% on that day’s retail price i.e. the customer can opt only one scheme at a time, either 0.5 gram gold coin for purchase of 10 gram gold coin or 6% discount. This year, India Post also introduces for the first time, two new denominations of 10 gram and 50 gram respectively in attractive tamper proof packaging.

These gold coins of 24 carats with 99.99% purity and bearing the India Post logo are manufactured by the world renowned refiner Valcambi SA, Switzerland and they have the advantages of certification by internationally recognized Assayers tamper proof packaging and product standardization. India Post has been retailing gold coins of 0.5 gram, 1 gram, 5 gram, 8 gram and 20 gram through selected post offices since October-2008. In 2010-11, 52 Kgs of gold coins were sold through post offices.
