Railway employees will get 78 days bonus for this year 2011-12. This will benefit about 12.37 Lakhs employees.
The union cabinet headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has
approved the railway ministry's proposal. Its financial implication will be over Rs.1,021 crore.
The bonus would be paid ahead of the Dusshera and Durga Puja festival holidays, said officials.
The wage calculation ceiling prescribed for payment of PLB to the employees is Rs 3500 per month.
