It's a scholarship for promotion of aptitude and research in stamps as hobby.
Philately is a collection and study of stamps. The hobby includes seeking locating acquiring organising cataloguing displaying storing and maintaining stamps or related products thematic ways.
Reinforcing the efforts aimed for increasing the reach of philately department of posts is launching deen dayal sparsh yojana scholarships to school children in the class category of VI to IX .
It is proposed to award annual scholarship to those children who have good academic record and to pursue philately as hobby.
Details of the scheme.
1. It is proposed to award 920 students pan india.
2. Every postal circle will give maximum 40 scholarships to 10 students each from XI, XII, XIII and IX.
3. Amount of scholarship is rupees 6000 Per annum, 500 per month.
4. Selections to this scholarship would be for one year.
Eligibility Conditions
1. Candidate must be a student of recognised school in india.
2. Concerned school have a philatelic club and having hus own philatelic deposit account.
3. Candidate must have good academic record having minimum 60% if marks.
