Dearness Allowance order from July 2010.
The decision will benefit more than 41 lakh government employees and another 38 lakh pensioners.
The decision to increase DA was taken because of the rise in the consumer price index for industrial workers.
DA is revised twice a year, from January one and July one, payable in salaries of March one and September one, respectively.

Govt step to announce 10% hike in Dearness Allowance is welcome. It would bring atleast some respite to serving and retired Govt. employees.This is however going to further escalate the market prices.
