Posted by binu P Thursday, September 16, 2010

Dearness Allowance order from July 2010.
The cabinet is likely to announce Dearness Allowance Hike of 10 %  from July 2010 today or tomorrow. The present DA rate which is 35 % will be increased to 45 % w.e.f 01-07-2010.
The decision will benefit more than 41 lakh government employees and another 38 lakh pensioners.

The decision to increase DA was taken because of the rise in the consumer price index for industrial workers.

DA is revised twice a year, from January one and July one, payable in salaries of March one and September one, respectively.

  4. Govt step to announce 10% hike in Dearness Allowance is welcome. It would bring atleast some respite to serving and retired Govt. employees. This is however going to further escalate the market prices.
