Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi announced Dearness Allowance hike of 8% for the employees of TamilNadu state government.
The government hiked the Dearness Allowance and also extended the benefits to pensioners too. The revised DA will be payable from Jan 1, 2010.
The hike in the dearness allowance for Tamil Nadu government employees has come following the recent announcement of the Central government’s eight per cent hike in DA for its employees. A directive was issued in this regard by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, the release said, adding this will cost the state exchequer an additional sum of Rs 1,447.76 crore annually.
