Central Cabinet Approved DA Increase w.e.f January 2011
Central Government today declared the increase in Dearness Allowance with effect from January 2011 in Paliament. The increase in DA will be six percent (6%) only. Now the New DA rate will be 51%. Thus it will increase ayments like conveyance allowance and children education allowance will also increase by 25%. This decision will benefit about 50 lakh Central Government employees and 38 lakh pensioners. While the move will provide some relief to Central government employees and pensioners , the increase will cost the exchequer Rs 1,500 crore annually.

Please clarify whether the Travelling Allowance will be increased by 25% or not.
Its low as compared to present inflation. the government is not seeing the employees who fall maximum in the range of affected inflation. it should be at least 8%.

I hope pensioners also given HRA as per their basic pension for living peacefully. Govt should study this matter

what about medical allowance to pensioners, whether it will increase 25% as that of working employees
