Central Cabinet Approved DA Increase w.e.f January 2011

Central Government today declared the increase in Dearness Allowance with effect from January 2011 in Paliament. The increase in DA will be six percent (6%) only. Now the New DA rate will be 51%. Thus it will increase ayments like conveyance allowance and children education allowance will also increase by 25%. 

This decision will benefit about 50 lakh Central Government employees and 38 lakh pensioners. While the move will provide some relief to Central  government employees and pensioners , the increase will cost the exchequer Rs 1,500 crore annually.

  4. Its low as compared to present inflation. the government is not seeing the employees who fall maximum in the range of affected inflation. it should be at least 8%.
