What will be the New DA From January 2011 ?

Posted by binu P Sunday, January 2, 2011

The central Government employees are expecting a Good Dearness Allowance rise from 1st January 2011.  It is expected that atleast 6% increase in DA will be there from Jan 2011.

Present DA Rate  45%.
Expected increase:  6%.
DA rate from Jan 2011:  51%.

The calculation is based on the AICPIN published by labour Bureau,  Government of India.  For the month November 2010 the AICPIN stands at 182. For December, the results will come only at the end of month of January 2011. If AICPIN reaches at 185 in December Government employees would likely to get 6% DA.

Once the DA rate touches 50%, the allowances like conveyance allowance, children education allowance etc will be increased 25% more.  The final picture will come in the end of January 2011 only.

  1. The AICPIN for the first six months of 2010 are 172, 170, 170, 170, 172, 174 and there is increase of 10% DA from July, 2010 but the AICPIN for the last six months are 178, 178, 179, 181, 182, 185 (expected) and the increase is only 6% how is it possible please explain

  4. @Sanjay Sharma,

You are quite unaware of the calculation as because your calculation is here based on six months instead of twelve months. So please read sixth cpc DA calculation formula. Please note next central DA in July 2011 will be around 8%.

  6. Once the DA rate touches 50%, the allowances like conveyance allowance, children education allowance will be increased 25% more but those employees in retirement and getting pension how they maintained their family in high prices today, should to given some allownaces like more medical facility, house rent and tax exampted in all respect From S Pradhan- retired employee

  8. it is the the time to think about pensioner.increase in pension of course in basic pension nessesory by way of yearly increase like increment

  9. 6% increase in DA from january 2011 is much less, considering the soaring price rise of commodities and ACPIN. It's worthless.

  11. DA is a mockery, which in effect is treated as an income rather than price rise neutralizing mechanism, where is there 100% neutralization of price rise at any level when subjected to income tax, which goes contrary to one of the pay commission recommendation of 100% neutralization at basic level of pay structure

  13. increase of DA by 6% in central government in less as compared to increased in inflation in past few months, so much calculation and deep survey is required for DA revision.

  15. We are quite alert about our problems. We should also be same towards all pensioners. After all they too are part of us. Not only this, we too shall be joining their ranks someday. We should fight to strengthen that sector also.

With the serious situation around us there is imperative need for " increment system" in Pensions. One cannot sustain on paltry few thousands for those who were our seniors. We often see their plight in CGHS, Govt. Offices waiting for dues/recognition etc. which is a sad reflection.
Let there be voice for them also. Its pity. PENSIONS SHOULD GET INCREMENT BASED ON THEIR SCALES- We should treat it as STEPS TOWARDS OUR FUTURES TOO !

  17. Dear Sir,

Having read the anticipated increase in DA by 6% is not understood keeping the price hike in general commodities during last six month. Last time it was 10%. Second I would like to know, whether it will be merged in the basic pay once it crosses 50% sealing.

  19. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO FACE THE PRICES INCREASED DAY BY DAY AND PROPOSED RATE OF DA I.E.6% IS NOT APPROPRIATE. THERE IS HIKE IN PRICES OF PETROL, GRAIN, AND DAY TO DAY COMMODITIES . GOVERNMENT SHOULD UNDERSTAND AND THINK OVER THE DIFFICULTIES FACED BY GOVERNMENT SERVANTS WORKING UNDER THEM.

  30. The soldiers having permanent, less than 100 percent disability element and disability not attributable to the service are discharged from service by IMB/RMB. They are not entitled for disability pension. In some cases they do not get service pension if discharged from service before 15 years of service. In my view such handicapped soldiers are to be given special transport allowance as they need to visit ECHS/Empaneled hospitals frequently for regular check up/review.

  34. The sad plight of pensioners in these days of soaring prices must be considered sympoathetically by the Govt. They should be given increase in basic pension like a formula of increment . They are denied all other allowances including HRA and I know how many of them lead a cursed life in the twilight of their life ..........

  38. I agree with the increment system in pension. Moreover in my view all benefits equal to army like service pay, pension, CSD canteen, ECHS etc (all facilites of army) provided to BSF and ITBP as they are our 1st defence . The above force keeping our nation every time in International border.( vah karmik snake, ice, garmi, ithyadi ko parva na karthe huve army se badkar kam kar raha hai. iske athirikth election duties aantharik suraksha duty me bhi vah karmik apne jaan lagadethai. India ke ek hero ko army canteen se saman lane ki anumathi hai lakin desh raksha karne vala BSF va ITBP jawan ko nahi

  44. Give pensioners annual increment to cope up with the soaring prices/difficult lifestyle. recognise their services renderd with meagre salaries/allowancesfor many many years. Govt must ensure that sr citizens have their due to live normal life without any luxery.
