The Indian Post has become the first government department of the country to be on a micro blogging site, the Twitter. They have taken a great step in improving the performance and scenario of the postal services of India. On this social platform provided by the Indian Post office, people can send their queries, comments, remarks, problems, suggestions etc. Even the Indian Post department can inform to its users the latest activities and on-going events related to their department.
DoP has set up a dedicated desk for the Twitter account, who deal with queries ranging from parcel pick-up facilities in remote Indian towns to answering queries on philately for stamp collectors, and telling foreigners at tourist hotspots where the nearest post-office is — all in real time.
Stamp collectors stand to gain from the DoP’s Twitter page, as all the latest developments regarding release of new stamps and interactive platforms for stamp collectors are posted.
