Posted by binu P Thursday, December 3, 2009

Central govt employees are allowed tours by road conducted by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a Government of India's undertaking under the Min of Railways for the purpose of reimbursement of LTC by Government servants on the lines of ITDC/STDC and to say that as the IRCTC is also offering tour packages involving air travel in the  sectors like Delhi - Leh, Delhi - Srinagar, Jaipur -Goa, ChennailCalcutta - Port Blair etc., the question of allowing LTC packages of IRCTC, including the component of air travel has been examined in consultation with the Min. of Finance.
It has now been decided to allow the re-imbursement of air fare along with rail and road fare in the case of LTC
journey 'of Government servants in tours offered by IRCTC for reimbursement under LTC provided the IRCTC indicates and certifies the 3 components separately and booking of tickets is done by IRCTC fully complying with the instructions of Govt. of lndia issued from time to time in this regard such as journey by Air lndia under LTC 80 scheme in economy class without package benefits etc.

  2. I have travelled by air india to New delhi from bangalore on 10.4.2010 and retrned back to bangalore from New delhi on 15.4.2010 along with my wife and son. The tickets were bookded through an authorised agent. But the rates charged is varying from Rs. 3850 for mine to 6090 for my wife & daughter. I have taken travel certificate from Air India also. But now i don't know as to how I should claim the variable rates under LTC for the journey by same flight and same day. Can any person help me inthis regard.

  6. I have an IRCTC account which is locked second time.
When i tried to reset the password through forget password link, it asks User id, question and Answer. I provided all the details and it throws an error "Answer is Incorrect". This happend second time and both the times i tried to login through the actual password.
I waited for a week and there was no response from IRCTC customer care. I called them up on 24 Hrs. Customer Support at 011-23340000 and it took about 12 calls to make them understand about the issue. When ever i called up the customer support the person attnding the call will redirect me to someone else after listening to my detail and again i need to explain whole story, inshort that was waste of time and money.
I sent an email at care@irctc.co.in also submit at http://www.consumercourt.in/railways/14030-irctc-login.html and got an automated email as Ticket Confirmation for the request.
IRCTC should hire service and satisfaction oriented support executives so that it a common man has no pain of wasting time and money.
