5% Da hike expected for Central govt employees From July 2009

DA hike for Pensioners and Employees.

The government is planning to give 5 % more da to govt employees from this july. So now the new DA (Dearness Allowance) will become 27%. It will be effective from 1st July 2009.

The DA is calculated based on Calculation based on all India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100.

Factors used for calculating New DA.

All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 for the month of April, 2009 increased by 2 points and stood at 150, and all India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 for the month of May,2009 increased by 1 point and stood at 151.

So both the pensioners and employees of central government will benefit this new DA hike.
