It was decided to grant grade pay of RS 5400 in PB 2 on non functional basis to Group B officers of Income tax Officers after 4 years of regular service in the grade pay of RS 4800 in PB 2 also from 1.1.2006 irrespective of the fact that they have completed 4 years of service in the pay scale of Rs.7500-12000 only during 2008.
Earlier, Income Tax Officers who have completed 4 years of service as on 1st January 2006 have been fixed with the grade pay of Rs.5400/- only as on 21st April 2008, on the notion that these Officers were placed in the pay scale of Rs.7500-12000 only from April 2004.
