Department of Posts launched sale of gold coins through post offices in Kerala. Sources said that the collection on the first day itself, from 18 post offices across the state has crossed 1 lakh rupees.
This scheme is already a big hit in other parts of the country. Delhi, Tamil Nadu,Gujarath, Maharashtra,Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan,Punjab, Andhra Pradesh circles alrady began this service and is a huge hit in those states. Haryana and Utter Pradesh circles will also begin this scheme soon.
In Kerala 18 select post offices in Trivandrum, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Thrissur, calicut and Wayanad district started selling gold coins.
