The Government today gave approval for the implementaion of the sixth pay commission report.
Main Features:
1. A 20% raise over the pay bands suggested by the commission.
2. 3% raise in basic pay compared to 2.5 % recommended by commission.
3. Effective from 01/01/2006
4. Group D personnel to stay.
5. Military service pay for persons below the officer rank would be 2000 rs/month.
6. Brigadiers move to pay band 4. (39,200 - 67000)
7. in IPS and Indian Forest Service the DIG scale ablished.
8. Minimum basic pay of a Government Employ raised to 7000. So gross amount greater than 10000.
9. Arrears to be paid in two installments -- 40 per cent this financial year and 60 per cent in the next financial year.
